Add research

Paste a research note. Claude splits it into individual claims, tags each by market and direction, and updates the read — usually 30–60 seconds.

What happens next

1. Extract claims
Claude splits the note into up to 8 atomic, traceable signals.
2. Group by market
Each signal gets an asset class, a direction (conviction delta −5 to +5), a strength and a confidence.
3. Update the read
Themes are regrouped, verdicts recomputed, a decision summary is written and the Obsidian vault is refreshed.

Prefer to stay in Obsidian? Save notes as .md files in the vault inbox on the server. A watcher sends each one through this same analysis — no browser needed.

source: is the label the note is filed under — the watcher has no title field, so put it here. Without it the file name is used.
Body under 100 characters: skipped, not analysed. Over 14,000: only the first 14,000 are sent.
Only .md files are read; README.md is ignored.

What the watcher does

Checks the inbox every minute (brain-obsidian-inbox.timer) and posts each note to /brain/paste.
When the dashboard answers, the file moves to inbox/processed/ with a timestamp prefix — even if the analysis reported a problem, so check the dashboard log for a note that never appears. If the dashboard is unreachable, the file stays and is retried.
Duplicates are detected by content (SHA-256 of the text): a note saved or synced twice adds no new signals and doesn't recompute the themes.
Results are written back to brain_vault/pastes/ and brain_vault/themes/.

Syncing from your laptop

The inbox lives on the server. Mirror your vault's inbox folder to it with Syncthing (laptop Send Only, server Receive Only), or an rclone sync of a Drive folder on a 1–2 minute cron. For a one-off file:
